This work depicts an eye in the center of the painting that represents the hardships of life, glaring at the isolated people around them. The skull is used to express the fact that these lonely people are constantly threatened with life-threatening danger and have no time to rest.
What I wanted to express with this work is the meaning of life. The life of the people may be full of hardships, but they should fight with courage, and the idea that it is important to live each day with the constant knowledge that we will all die someday is expressed in this painting.
この作品は、画面の中心に人生という苦難を偶像化した眼が、周りにいるそれぞれ孤立した民衆を睨み付けている姿を表現したものです。孤独な民衆達は、常に生命の危機に脅かされて気の休まる時がないということを、髑髏を使って表現しました。
この作品の表現したかったことは、人生の生きる意味です。民衆の人生は、苦しいことが多い生涯かも知れないが、勇気を出して闘うべきであり、常にいつか我々は死ぬということを噛み締めて、毎日の暮らしを過ごすことが大事だという考えがこの絵に表現されています。
