The work “Portrait photography and an ascetic life” explores the history of our humanity and the depth of each individual life. When you look at each of the countless portraits that exist in the world, you can feel the weight of the history of humanity spanning generations. The men and women depicted in this work have families, jobs, raised children, and walked through life with friends. Their lives are full of joy and success, as well as hardships with ups and downs. However, many people face those difficulties ascetically and live strong. I believe that their appearance, sometimes harsh and sometimes beautiful, will deeply move us. This work aims to express the beauty and strength in human history through the struggles of individuals. Through the countless stories told by portraits, we can learn about the strength and fragility of human beings, and the rich lives that are woven together by both.
